Migrantour – a splendid way of finding new eyes
It’s a very strange summer, isn’t it?
Some of us have ventured abroad into this new world. Others have decided to stay home. For both categories, I want to tell you about an alternative travel solution that will lead you to discover both the city where you live and where you may be spending your holidays and some destinations in Europe.
The solution I want to talk to you about is called Migrantour and this is their official website: http://www.mygrantour.org/en/
Turin, Milan, Pavia, Genoa, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, Cagliari, Catania. And soon, Bergamo too. And then again, Lisbon, Valencia, Paris, Brussels, Marseille, Ljubljana: Migrantour is present in all these European cities.
Born in Turin in 2010 from the idea of Viaggi Solidali, tour operator of responsible tourism and promoted by Oxfam Italia together with ACRA (Association of Rural Cooperation in Africa), Migrantour proposes intercultural urban walks that see as protagonists fellow citizens from other worlds, residents of old and new generation.
If you want to read my personal experience with Migrantour, here is the article in Italian I wrote for Latitudes Life on this project a few weeks ago. You can find it here: https://www.latitudeslife.com/2020/07/migrantour-siate-benvenuti-nella-vostra-casa/.
It is a splendid, one-of-a-kind travel idea. Travel with Migrantour and you will discover that you have new eyes.
